As NBA Media was today, the Minnesota Vikings traded J.J. McCarthy to the New York Giants for a 2027 fifth round pick. McCarthy joins Jim Harbaugh’s brother, John, in New York.
Jim Harbaugh had experience coaching J.J. In their time at Michigan. John will utilize ways of best handling McCarthy after a rough stint in Minnesota.
There may have been lots of pressure on McCarthy’s plate but looking back at his last MNF performance. He played spectacularly well.
Jaxson Dart is out for the remainder of season which is why the Giants pulled this move. McCarthy kept sliding as far down as No.3 on the Vikings QB depth chart.
McCarthy could have never gotten a fair amount of criticism during his time with Minnesota as an injury also pegged him down. The Vikings lose a talent that cannot be filled in the shoes of Kyler Murray or Carson Wentz.
