What We Learned From The 2025 MLB Trade Deadline
Yesterday, we saw a collassal of trades and, in fact, according to Jomboy Media this was the most entertaining one.
It all began first with Michael Soroka who will be joining Willie Castro in Chicago to compete for a pennant. Both stand servicably well considering they join a winning contender.
In the meantime, Carlos Correa rejoined the Astros after they considered pitching. Correa will play third as Jeremy Pena is the best defensive shortstop without question by looking at his career-high Field percentage.
The one trade that stook out was not Spencer Jones or Paul Skenes. It was Mason Miller. AJ Preller proved to work the phones again but by how much leeway?
The Los Angeles Dodgers receive more ownership suppport than San Diego as Miller would go appreciated to move past Juan Soto and stir things in the Padres competitive bullpen with Jason Adam and Adrian Morejon.
We cannot go without forgetting the Phillies vs. Mets rivalry. The two butted heads as each bought a pitcher and a rental outfielder. Bader can play left and centerfield against his former team while Mullins touches the red apple.
In all seriousness, they were two gaps to fill at closer for both teams going head-to-head in the NL East. Phillies fans will get ready for Jhoan Duran MLB bullpen entrance and wait and see on Ryan Helsley.
Furthermore, it was tight for some but fans got through another deadline and will be back for more MLB coverage or next year of the 2026 MLB Trade Deadline.

Phillies Acquire Jhoan Duran
On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Phillies acquired Jhoan Duran. Duran clocks in with a 100.7 MPH fastball and a sneaky splinker that some say is one of his only long-term bets.
Duran prided himself on the love of the Minnesota Twins organization and leaves no doubt his time was treasured. The Phillies, on the other hand, are cocky and might rub him the wrong way with President of Baseball Ops Dave Dombrowski steering ship.
Dombrowski wanted it this way as Mets rival acquired Ryan Helsley from the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Phillies will bring in the snake after Jordan Romano, Orion Kerkering, and others wavered throughout the season. Duran is used to throwing multiple scoreless innings at some points and records a sharp 2.01 ERA.
Nothing can devastate the basic battle in the NL East as the Mets currently lead by one and the Phillies forfeit Mick Abel and prospect Eduardo Tait which is tearing in itself.
Tait might be the only repercussion as time lingers as Phillies management likes to surrender talent in the past such as Logan O‘Hoppe with a rising potential catcher bat.
In other ways than not, Abel’s time ended shortly but not for long in MLB.
Duran is a good deal for now but overall. The Phillies acquired a short term piece who is under team control until 2027.
