  • Anna Leigh Waters Experiences Her First Loss

    It happened at this past Sunday’s Edward Jones MLP Mid-Season tournament where up and comers Anna Bright and Kate Fahey defeated Anna Leigh Waters for her first loss ever in front of a nice summer crowd.

    Waters was not shot at too much. There may have been one successful rally as Bright and Fahey’s strategy prevailed.

    “It definitely requires discipline, patience. I think it also requires perhaps a lack of pride to an extent, just to kind of say, ‘We’re going to do this, and we’re going to commit to this game plan.’ It’s pretty obvious what we were doing, but it worked,” added Bright. “It worked on the day.”

    Anna Leigh Waters is going to have to watch back the tape and see what she can do differently in doubles with her teammate Jorja Johnson in order to settle an easy score. It was easy to note that Bright and Fahey should have waited until the playoffs to unleash their strategy but whatever the internet says Pickle is fair play or Bush league ought to check themselves.

    There have been many greats throughout sports that was not drafted by a paper napkin. The man I am referring to is Lionel Messi.

    In 2022, Messi and Argentina won the World Cup in Qatar. Messi is back for yet another attempt at the World Cup against Spain Sunday as of this writing and there is debate whether or not Messi should be involved in the G.O.A.T. debate.

    He is the all-time World Cup goals leader. During one career season, he shot 91 memorable goals. Messi, 39, holds the all-time scoring and assists and has not slowed down.

    It is similar to Tom Brady when he extended his stay in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won a Super Bowl. It is a reminder of when Michael Jordan battled through the flu game to win his sixth NBA championship or Michael Phelps last swimming stride and attain 23 Olympic gold medals.

    All of these things sound great but Messi is the greatest of all-time possibly with a win Sunday because he can simply still go since age two.

    Forget AJ Brown for a second and start to think about what the Philadelphia Eagles have in store for the 2026 NFL regular season. They drafted not only Makai Lemon but Markel Bell and Eli Stowers in the first couple rounds.

    Stowers starts to warrant the cushion the Eagles need at tight end with a trending alert at the position. Ever since Sean McVay incorporated a three tight end set because of men down. Teams have been loading up on tight ends and especially at this past year’s 2026 NFL Draft.

    The Eagles played well on defense last year. There were Maxx Crosby rumors floating around.

    With the return of Dallas Goedert, him, Grant Calcaterra, and Stowers will have specific roles to play and implement strategy for big opposing men such as them, feasibly, to move on from Brown and create speed on the outside for Lemon and Devonta Smith through wear and tear.

    The Los Angeles Rams almost won against the Seattle Seahawks in last year’s NFC Conference championship game but due to Mike MacDonald’s dominant safety, nickel and linebackers scheme. They won fair and square against a heavy tight end pass rush.

    Now, is the Eagles and Eli Stowers’ time to shine bright as most teams will look to add strength and physicality at the second level.

    Erling Haaland is a once in a generational soccer athlete who is now on futbol’s biggest stage at the age of 25. Call this his prime or calling moment but Norway needs him badly to row his way against England later tonight.

    He will face another Golden Ball candidate Harry Kane as both have played solidly well in the FIFA World Cup. Tonight determines if Haaland can stop his former playgrounds growing up, England.

    People have clamored as to why Haaland has not played for England many years later. England was his birthplace as his father played for Leeds United.

    Haaland left his hometown, however, to represent the Norwegian dream and I am not talking about the official cruise ship. It is two European powerhouses who know how to play with their feet and convey a balanced, fun attack.

  • Reassessing Nico Harrison’s Role in Dallas

    Nico Harrison was arguably the Dallas Mavericks worst nightmare. He went beyond lengths to shatter what would have been a culture shift without Mark Cuban.

    Obviously, take Luka Doncic for example. The Mavericks traded Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis and Max Christie. What was worse is Jalen Brunson.

    Many NBA pundits claimed that the Doncic deal was a nightmare. Well fast forward to today, Brunson has one ring with one of the hardest organizations to play under, the New York Knicks.

    What is entailing is that even though, Doncic led the NBA in scoring this year and is still young, Brunson offered to stay in Dallas but Harrison declined.

    Brunson was averaging 20 points and 6 assists without Doncic in the Dallas lineup. Just like he is now, only six points higher with the Knicks.

    Harrison was a detriment to basketball. Reassessing the current situation he traded away two young, phenomenal, talented basketball players who should have never gone anywhere in the first place. Instead, it is time to remeasure the faith led by Brunson’s Knicks.

    According to sources, LeBron James was ‘not available’ when the Los Angeles Lakers called about the 22x NBA All-Star. James did not have a formal or informal offer with the Lakers brass..

    He already knew his time was itching closer to the end and gave the Lakers the expectation there would be extension talks. They did not discuss the vision for the future or meet face-to face.

    This is the franchise that held a spot for Bronny James. This is the team that valued LeBron’s legacy and he just tossed L.A. to the flames.

    He does not care. Did he ever with Miami or Cleveland? Cleveland may have a slight excuse.

    Still, at 42, LeBron wants to win championships, possibly with the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat or Cleveland Cavaliers.
