• Damar Hamlin to Start for First Time Since Cardiac Arrest

Damar Hamlin to Start for First Time Since Cardiac Arrest

Buffalo Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin will start in the season opener at home this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals via head coach Sean McDermott. It will be his first time starting since the Cincinnati Bengals 2023 game and collapsing on the field due to cardiac arrest.

The Cardinals missed the playoffs with a 4-13 record last season while the Bills were jarred loose by the Chiefs in the AFC Divisional round. Hamlin’s role with the team was previously in danger but he has jumped to a marvelous comeback after surgery and a minor hamstring injury in the preseason.

The safety position is to earn as Cole-Bishop and Mike Edwards will be trying to vie for what approaches in the fall.

  • Smashed Wilson Racquet

    Smashed Wilson Racquet

So, every once in a while there is a story about a starting quarterback named Russell Wilson that people tend to hear about because it was like a smashed tennis racquet.

For all the good and bad reasons, the Steelers announced on Wednesday afternoon Wilson’s QB designation. Wilson led the Seattle Seahawks to two Super Bowl appearances and years later is looking to re-spark that magic with the Denver Broncos and now Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburgh has fought under a new general manager by the name of Omar Khan and he has compiled decent draft picks but nothing too superstar-like since his promotion. Also, he added Andy Weidl who worked closely with the Eagles offensive line and won some division and championship titles along the way.

The main hire is Arthur Smith. Smith is coming off a firing and critics have been skeptical of his two tight-end systematic formations and playing inside the middle of the field with Wilson. One of Wilson’s main areas of concern.

Wilson cannot run like he is fairly used to. And after the past couple of seasons in Denver, he looks lowly more productive with Justin Fields easily ready to take the throne.

  • Florida State Upset by Georgia Tech

Florida State Upset by Georgia Tech

Florida State was upset by Georgia Tech by a final score of 24-21 in Ireland on Saturday. DJ Uiagelelei ended the day with a superb stat line but spent most time throwing within five yards of the line of scrimmage. Last year’s FSU team was undefeated and started discussion of a possible spot in the playoff tournament. As it turns out, Keon Coleman, Jordan Travis, Trey Benson, and multiple others have left the program and it has been a rocky start for the Seminoles under coach Mike Norvell’s and a highest scoring offense from last year.

As for Georgia Tech, they rammed together pretty decent drives, especially toward the end when Florida State answered with a drive of their own, and Georgia Tech responded with a game-winning drive to elicit the strength of its quarterback Haynes King meshed with the offensive line. It was a solid day for Georgia Tech as they now take advantage of a brand new conference race.

  • Molinaless Winemixer

    Molinaless Winemixer

Yadier Molina was born in PR and then migrated to play for the St. Louis Cardinals which lasted 18 MLB seasons as a backstop. He is truly respected by every figure across the league. Fast forward to today, there is a shift being substituted in Molina’s place. It is called the Molinaless winemixer.

Something in simple terms where liquors are mixed but the caveat is this year’s ball club. The 2024 St. Louis Cardinals are currently five games back of a wild card berth but lack some talent including Jordan Walker, Nolan Gorman, Brandon Crawford, and now catcher Wilson Contreras.

Contreras has easily been St. Louis’ biggest star this year with a .849 OPS despite missing seven weeks and now likely the remainder of 2024 due to a hit pitch by Pablo Lopez. It has not bode healthy for St. Louis ever since Molina left as a non-manager especially.

Jobs are at stake including Oliver Marmol, John Mozeliak, and others who have played a part behind the scenes. St. Louis fans can only retort a bit of vitriol at the moment and strive with new catcher Ivan Herrera who was originally graded as the Cards’ sixth top-rated prospect.

  • Cade York Traded to Commanders

    Cade York Traded to Commanders

The Commanders continue to make moves as they not only trade Jahan Dotson but acquire Cade York from the Cleveland Browns for a conditional seventh-round pick. This comes off the heels of a successful college career at LSU (2022) and never quite gelling with the Cleveland Browns.

York is pretty hopeful he will secure a kicking job before the regular season as he started the preseason decently and worked through other hurdles before re-signing with Cleveland in 2024.

  • Doneleavy

    Doneleavy

The Golden State Warriors are done for. They have been in a stalemate position since Bob Myers left for ESPN media and unloaded Jordan Poole.

Poole was a spark plug. He was one of Stephen Curry’s ignitions to start. Speaking of which, Curry scored ridiculously high in his final four games at the Paris Olympics as compared to the first couple. Curry finished with a game high 24 points to end the games and was feeling more electric fans had not seen him in a while.

When Curry is in the moment, he strikes and currently the front office has really characterized no bolt of satisfaction and critics believe Curry is set to leave the Warriors, similar to Klay Thompson because they might not like the current situation in Golden State.

Curry is a respectable athlete in the locker room. No one cannot take that away except for what comes next with Mike Dunleavy Jr. He is someone unsure of already handling the general manager job position and taking the reins for owner Joe Lacob and company.

  • Seattle Strong

    Seattle Strong

Mr. Wilson is standing tall for Seattle and this does not imply talking about the days he stood next to Randy Johnson as a catcher. He is standing so to represent the team, days removed from Scott Servais’ long awaited firing.

Servals was not as abysmal with a .514 winning percentage and one playoff appearance but that did not suffice the purpose of ultimately reigniting good times known as the ‘glory days’ of Seattle.

Servais is gone. Dan Wilson in. There is no exceptional way of calculating it. Wilson has never served as a upper level coaching staff member but as fondly connected Servais’ exiting letter was to the Seattle community, Wilson is casted the same.

Wilson is beloved by Seattle fans, execs, co-workers to erase the five lead deficit currently in the division and accomplish: one or two things.

Try and definitively improve the offense that is heeding off a major league best 3.26 rotation ERA and prove that glory days are still on the horizon for a Seattle ball club within reach time in and out.

  • Sandersmania

    Sandersmania

Hi, and welcome back to college football. It is Colorado football season or would like to say Sandersmania for the pure simple fact that Shedeur Sanders was the Buffaloe’s bright spot last year. He has entered himself in top mock draft board conversations to ease his transition into the NFL. It turns better.

Sanders, in his lone great season, completed 69.3% of his passes for 3,230 yards, 31 total touchdowns, and only three interceptions. Not bad to start. But he even breaks out better in terms of NFL scouts based on his agility and size to become another Sanders in the wings waiting for their draft number to be called.

Prototypical is the word to describe aloud Sandersmania. He is sharp, tenacious, and aggressive. He is also Deion Sander’s son, who recently discussed on a podcast that an ‘Eli Manning situation’ is coming to a head soon for Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders.

Hunter is another highly recruited player out of Jackson State and Colorado who plays more than one position for the Buffaloes. It will be a gifted feeling for Sanders or Hunter to be drafted by a respective team or greater but Sanders is easily the most intriguing prospect entering senior year.

He will have every opportunity to prove that he is a legitimate magnet to the press, fans, and scouts.

  • Dylan Raiola Earns Starting QB Position

Dylan Raiola Earns Starting QB Position

Nebraska named Dylan Raiola its starting QB less than two weeks from their season opener against UTEP.

Raiola performed very well during the spring game, just enough to appeal to the Huskers coaching staff and be better than his predecessor Heinrich Haarberg who played poorly inside the FBS rankings of quarterbacks last year.

Raiola was highly recruited by Georgia and Texas and decided to play for coach Matt Rhule instead. A bit of anticipation is that he will become the first true freshman to lead the Huskers to a nice total offense record since Aidan Martinez.

  • Stone Unturned

    Stone Unturned

It is a smooth sailing Monday afternoon in Santa Monica, CA. Nothing could wrong beside the potential earthquakes that surround and locate the area from time to time. Gavin Stone is a major league pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has been attending this rodeo for less than two years and executing fine.

This comes off the heels of a Jack Flaherty trade, and injury stints to River Ryan Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, and Clayton Kershaw. It cannot go without mentioning, Bobby Miller and Walker Buehler have thrown their arms out.

There is a stone unturned however in the stretch of August to October and his name is Gavin Stone. Stone has pitched a solid 3.63 ERA, 4.04 FIP and lately struck out 10 batters in a seven innings pitched win over Seattle.

Stone accredited Dodgers pitching coach Mark Prior for overcoming easy adjustments as well as learning from Clayton Kershaw. Stone has cleaned some things on his delivery, in the case of not spinning the ball off.

Bobby Miller was the Dodgers hopeful delivery man last year but considering him and Buehler have combined for 17 ineffective starts, Kershaw is back as always, Yamamoto will likely return, and Tyler Glasnow should be ready.

The race is on for October.
