  • Who won the Jermaine Johnson-T’Vondre Sweat trade?

Jermaine Johnson, a former 2022 first round New York Jets draft pick, was traded to the Tennessee Titans for T’Vondre Sweat. Sweat only a 2024 second-round pick scored big time in this trade. Even though the Jets are not highly secure in edge rushers, Aaron Glenn will have plenty of restocking to do with the Jets popular defense.

New York has always played it safe when its come to the defense of the city. Glenn, Bowles, Ryan, Saleh all being defensive minds, this is the blossoming opportunity to acquire back a huge bolt of potential.

The DT depth is safe and sound with Sweat finishing well as a run stopper. Sweat adds to what faces the Jets long-term future.

As for Johnson, he enables himself to reconnect with former coach Saleh. Saleh will have every right to feel passionate and strong about his job further in Tennessee.

Johnson also contributed on special teams and was vocal in the protection of the kicker. When it all comes down to it, the Jets won the huge trade because it shows Tennessee is in it for the short haul of reestablishing Cam Ward in a sloppy team performance of his rookie season.

Do Not Make the Travis Hunter Story Complicated

Travis Hunter is a two-way star out of Colorado University. He was highly recruited by coach Deion Sanders and played good enough to earn this year’s Heisman’s award.

Now what I am not understanding is why teams such as the Tennessee Titans (No.1) followed by the Cleveland Browns are making things sound complicated about Hunter? Browns GM Andrew Berry goes on to state that given the opportunity, Hunter will most likely play wide receiver and punt returner but that does not mean we should rule out the eligibility of Hunter’s abilities on both sides of the field.

Last year at Colorado, Hunter played 86.8 percent of offensive snaps for Colorado while on the defensive side, he performed 82.9% of reps. Just think about that, traveling back and forth, from play call to executional work.

Hunter has the ability to go the distance whether offense, defense, special teams or splitting it meticulously to start the season with the Tennessee Titans or Cleveland Browns.

The Titans coach Brian Callahan has said to be cautious but there is also the Cleveland Browns who have not been successful in finding a premier athlete such as Hunter and begging he does not get hurt. It could be a win unlike the column shows in Cleveland.

The NFL Draft Combine begins Thursday, February 27 and expect Travis Hunter to turn some scouts’ faces along the other likes of Abdul Carter, Tyler Warren, and Ashton Jeanty.
