The Los Angeles Clippers have faced a lot of pressure and scrutiny over the years for their lackluster performance on the court, but for one night the stars shined in L.A. including James Harden.
Harden scored 50 points and marked the 24th time in history behind Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant, he accomplished that. The Clippers faced the young defending Detroit Pistons and boy were not as bad, but they culminated a recipe for disaster based on the season Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duran, and Ausar Thompson has been developing.
The Clippers went all separate ways and deviated from the fact that they were not resilient. They had help. Owner Steve Ballmer, like normal, sat courtside with former president Barack Obama and Harden meanwhile displayed some of his old signature moves from Houston and Oklahoma City. This was nothing out of the ordinary as Harden has been used to scoring at least more than 20 points in a quarter this season, four times.
Without Kawhi Leonard and Norman Powell, and the fact that Ivica Zubac leftover piece from the Los Angeles Lakers, showed out on both ends and scored 22 along with 11-20 shooting and being very vocal, said extremes. Much so without legend Lou Williams being there. The ghost of the devil reigned in the most points scored in Clippers history before Harden during the 2018 season.
Harden scored his first major doubles like this since 2019 and it has. not come close to the fact, though, still for one night the Clippers must fight hard in the knits of adversity. They must sail past the game that set them apart from losing six of seven games since the All-Star and what decided execution.
The Pistons were a good team as they won 10 of 11 games most recently prior to this one, so my hats to the Los Angeles Clippers on one spectacular night and hopefully more to come for their fanbase.
