Turner collected some defensive miscues but pulled out the W thanks to helpful home runs by Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh and Christopher Sanchez’ resiliency on the mound, striking out the modern Babe Ruth, Shohei Ohtani, twice!

David Stearns is the Suspect You Don’t Want
David Stearns is riding on a high-level rollercoaster, similar to what he does on a day-to-day basis, stand from an overview in Citi Field or elsewhere, feeling strongly powerful. No questions are answered for years as to why the New York Mets are dysfunctional and the team continues to suffer but one man in particular had the guts to appear on the EC3 podcast and call out not Juan Soto but indirectly, Eric Chavez.
Forget Chavez mentioning the three assistants to Stearns busy latte. Stearns has stumbled on the Mets agenda and playing keen to Steve Cohen. He has put Soto on a pedestal and forgetting the rest of the team that includes Chavez as a hitting coach (2022-25).
Chavez provided some good details as to what is wrong with the New York Mets and obviously they need to get their acts together. David Stearns is a suspect you do not want to have.
He is bitter, egotistical, and aligned with the wrong people. Instead, the Mets want to infuse hope and team chemistry.

What Went Wrong with Carlos Mendoza
Nothing went wrong with Carlos Mendoza. What truly went wrong with Mendoza is that the team was not buying in.
The team was not buying into David Stearns plan and he paid for it.
Not only did he pay for it but mostly Steve Cohen. Cohen was willing to take a huge bet from a former New York Yankees baseball coach and he paid for it.
He paid for Juan Soto with deferrals and meanwhile success did not transfer over.
This is the signs of a bad baseball team. This is what the Anaheim Angels got for keeping Perry Minasian.
The general manager did not take questions from the media and was a jerk.
I digress, maybe the New York Mets did not buy into Mendoza but so what. Mendoza will eventually succeed at another job and not feel as sorry as Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor.
Lindor felt apologetic over the entire situation and he cannot be blamed. Lindor played well one other time when he rallied the team to victories.
Lindor can start to be the leader and find the team’s true identity. Mendoza, though, was their first step forward.

The Case in the MLB CBA Pudding
Very soon MLB league officials will gather as part of a new CBA agreement. Many people think the owners will agree on a new payroll establishment while one CBA rests on the morals and values of revenue disparity.
Many do not want a lockout and more certain change has added onto the bonus of ABS, pitching clock, and other tools for the game to unlock except payroll despair. The Tampa Bay Rays currently rank first and have one of the lowest payrolls in baseball.
The Los Angeles Dodgers may be a hot topic of discussion for right now but Shohei Ohtani is a global phenomenon who busts his tail off.
More will arise out of division and defensive realignment. Rob Manfred wants to push the narrative that this is a new age of baseball.
Whatever happens, the players are owed the dignity and integrity of the sport.

The Atlanta Curse
The Atlanta Braves have been in the news lately, partial, for landing in 1st place of the red hot NL East division. Chris Sale has been wheeling and dealing looking like the team’s best player with a 1.96 ERA but the odyssey to stay healthy has remained.
Take a look at Ronald Acuna Jr. and Spencer Strider. Those two can easily be successful when given the opportunity to be a number one option.
Then, there was the late Ted Turner and manager Bobby Cox who passed away in the same week as two Atlanta legends. Who could not forget the trio Bobby Cox worked with which included Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, and John Smoltz.
The Braves dominated the 90’s of baseball and have a lot to appreciate except for Sean Murphy. He has been listed out again for eight weeks and it is a major concern given this is Murphy’s fifth time on the IL in three years.

Kyle Schwarber is Doing It Again
Kyle Schwarber has found his swing again as the Philadelphia Phillies are in second place of the NL East division. He currently leads MLB in home runs and is showing no signs of stopping.
Aaron Judge, Byron Buxton, and Munetaka Murakami trail with 15 homers and are not defiance. Schwarber and the Phillies said good bye to Rob Thomson on April 28 and ever since, went 11-2. Hitting coach Kevin Long has to be pleased.
Schwarber wanted to test the market in the off-season and so far he has made the right decision in Philadelphia’s hitter friendly ball park.
If he keeps this up, he can certainly live up to the Designated Hitter David Ortiz was to Boston and play an entire career in Philadelphia. He recently hit a Schwarbomb off former teammate Ranger Suarez and said after the game how he was like a brother during his time in Philadelphia.
Brotherly Love is the best way to describe it as Schwarber encompasses.
