  • The Chance of a MLB Story with Statcast Trevor

It is an unbelievable story when you think about it. The Boston Red Sox had just extended the top prospect Roman Anthony to an eight year contract and meanwhile the other young players have been locked as well in the case of Trevor Story.

Trevor Story has been on a roll. He may be the worst Statcast cannon on the team with a 82.8 mph throw to first. The Sox were dealt with some nagging issues to start the season with first base such as the injury of Tristan Casas and Rafael Devers.

Devers refused to play first base and who could blame him. He could not play for jack in Boston in the year of 2025 and it was all because of his stinking attitude. Devers is now batting career lows in San Francisco even though the Giants are having a down season and most likely returning to form the following year.

Casas was a major concern but Kristian Campbell, Jaren Duran, Marcelo Meyer, Alex Bregman, and Roman Anthony have exceeded expectations. Just take a look at the veteran impact of Bregman with a .933 OPS and his homecoming in Houston. He still receives cheers as a major MLB superstar even though the coin has flipped to Story who has performed well since his May series against Milwaukee.

He went onto his first American League Player of the Week honors in July going 9-of-23 with 3 homers and eight RBI’s and has contributed nicely for the Red Sox to wonder if there are a legitimate Wild AL Contender? The answer, is a resounding yes.

The Red Sox is legitimate simply because of manager Alex Cora returning and providing a swagger of confidence. He tried the faith card with Devers but now this team is on its horses with Story averaging more games this year (115) than his final season in Colorado (142).

His stats are well up to par than most shortstops and you have to believe his veteran experience and Bregman’s paired with the youth of this ball club is destined to possibly beat out the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees and go on and win one thing, the AL East pennant.
