Today, there was an error made to the Florida State baseball scoreboard. None other than the manager and athletic director ranted about the call to wait one hour for a critical regional game to start in the midst of their plans.
Since when did you have to apologize in baseball managerial tirades or Major League Baseball for that matter?
We can take instances such as the famous ex-Seattle Mariners manager, Lou Piniella. No, I was not a fan for the way Ken Griffey Jr. went out because he did not approach the game much so like Piniella.
If Piniella roughened Griffey a bit, he would have been one of the best throughout his time but unfortunately there are other managers such as Dusty Baker who sat with Griffey depressed for sometime until that released into a tirade.
Tirades in baseball are not to be shelved. Take, Baker for example with numerous wins and a recent World Series win column with the Houston Astros.
The managers should not be blamed for eyeing the umpire then confronting the face of the media afterward. This is not a sham of mediocrity of what stands in the way at the class level.
Kevin O’Sullivan and Scott Stricklin should not be held accountable for their actions and rather the timing of the default situation.
