Fernando Mendoza has been a sensational quarterback this season for the Indiana Hoosiers and went on to win the Heisman award for best male college football athlete.
Last night against his hometown of Miami, he won again, this time diving into the end zone for a game-winning touchdown. It could be seen by a massive audience at home and the crowd waiting back at Indiana.
Mendoza lighted up the spotlight with his smile and sent one home for the Indiana Hoosiers. They became national champions for the first time ever under Curt Cignetti and what was laughable is coach‘s remarks stating he would celebrate to a beer beverage following the biggest win of the program’s history.
Mendoza did not know where he would play in his illustrious college career and it just so happened his brother, Alberto, entered the transfer portal, as of this morning. But, what shaped the foundation of Indiana, was Mendoza’s commitment to excellence after Indiana won only three games in 2023.
They ran it back and won because of Mendoza’s culpability to handle pressure and mastermind the Indiana offense. For that, Mendoza is awarded an A+.
