      Cody Bellinger Signs with Cubs

Cody Bellinger has signed with the Chicago Cubs on a three-year, $80 million deal. It was a lengthy process or a Scott Boras one to strike a deal. The Toronto Blue Jays and other teams were rumored to acquire the services of the 1x NL MVP but the Cubs presented an interesting offer that include two opt-outs.

    • The Summer of Swift and Kelce

The Summer of Swift and Kelce

And so it begins. The opportunity of a lifetime to relish summer love beneath Kansas City temperatures. It was a fond evening. Kelce won a Super Bowl and Swift ran for the nearest suite exit. It was the dawn of a new era in Chiefs Kingdom as the franchise currently holds the title of ‘dynasty.’

The beginning of a dynasty did not come so easy for the Chiefs. The Chiefs won back-to-back Super Bowl titles, something not accomplished since the 03-04 Patriots, and won against the Niners in overtime. It was yet another tight margin such as last year’s Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles (38-35).

A 10-point deficit came clawing toward Kyle Shanahan’s nice but decrepit Super Bowl record as Chiefs Kingdom rose to the occasion and brushed off the coverage Fred Warner was providing Travis Kelce a majority of the game.

This game meant war, faith, courage, and determination and the Chiefs fired on all cylinders. This team was successful in stopping the run and Patrick Mahomes meanwhile became a three-time Super Bowl MVP.

It cannot go without saying the hustle and determination Mahomes put into this entire year and the Chiefs organization as a whole. It is on to the summer of Swift and Kelce as both can now exit Las Vegas peacefully and sing “Yeah” by Usher because boy did they do it.

    • Fear the Deer

      Fear the Deer

The Milwaukee Bucks compiled a 30-13 record and fired new head coach Adrian Griffin. It came as a bit of a shock to the media but not around the league. It was a true send-off to the incoherent vibes felt in Milwaukee.

Hence enters Doc Rivers. Rivers voices at his press conference almost a quiet disdain for the lack of aggressiveness on Milwaukee’s end. It is called, ‘This could not have come anytime soon enough.’

The Bucks are on the cusp of something special. They may not be too far off but they have coherence based on their net rating– 10th in the NBA. Add in the excitement on offense with Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. They have the third-best offensive rating, scoring 120.1 points per 100 possessions.

The Bucks are on a clear mission this year. Enter the playoffs this year and make it prestigiously sound with Doc Rivers. Rivers does not seem too far intentionally vague when he mentions.

It is another time to now, ‘Fear the Deer,’

    • Lion Spike: A Simba Moment

      Lion Spike: A Simba Moment

An East African tribe used to do a ritual. It was called the Lion Spike. They would encircle the Lion and insert a spike into the lion’s mouth. Ironically enough, the Baltimore Ravens celebrate with the Lion Spike in their locker room after games.

Now would not it be something if the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions met in the Super Bowl. The Lions have played in two conference championships while the Niners are competing in 19 NFC Championship games.

The 49ers came off a slight, impressive 24-21 victory over Green Bay. Green Bay deserves kudos this season, especially Jordan Love. He may not have withered the same outcome vs. Dallas but finished with a 72.4 rating.

Baltimore, meanwhile, is playing lights out. They defeated the Houston Texans by a huge margin score and look to not skip a beat. Defensively, they made sure CJ Stroud felt uncomfortable inside the pocket, and all the reason to believe DC Mike MacDonald is heading towards a head coaching position.

Baltimore issued a bye week in their initial contests so for them to be well-rested and stoked for the Lions, seems to be a Simba moment.
