    • Kyle Schwarber Asked About Joining Hometown Team in FA

When asked about joining his hometown Cincinnati youth in free agency by Scott Lauber of the Inquirer, Kyle Schwarber candidly said, “Being able to play for your childhood team is something that I think it’d be awesome.”

Awesome, you might add Lauber decided to ask, “Being a baseball fan and growing up and watching Cincinnati baseball for your whole youth, that’s how fall in love with baseball, I would draw your attention, right?”

The Reds are in the thick of a Wild Card race with first year manager Terry Francona leading a 58-54 record. Cincinnati has pitching prospects Chase Burns and Rhett Lowder called up and you could argue the best home run leader of his generation compared to Babe Ruth would make a swing for the fences in Great American Ball Park.

Citizens Bank Park might become more dwindling as days countdown. We will never know an answer unless the Philadelphia Phillies, play ball to the drum of the history of Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt, Bryce Harper, and Kyle Schwarber.

    • Tommy Edman Listed as Day-to-Day

So much for knowing him as the 2024 MLB World Baseball MVP, Tommy Edman is listed as day-to-day as he battles an ankle sprain rounding first in a hot humid game against Tampa or St. Petersburg.

There is a lot about the future of the Tampa Bay Rays but their competition is steep. Los Angeles bench ranks sixth as of August 4, 2025 compared to 4th, 2024.

    • The Aftermath of MLB Trade Deadline

Last night was an interesting spectacle of walk-offs.

JP Crawford of the Seattle Mariners helped out when Eugenio Suarez was struggling to start and Logan Gilbert struck out seven to deliver the win for the second place team in the AL West.

Meanwhile, in Philly. The Philadelphia Phillies saw Bryce Harper get disqualified and it was not good. Harper needs to calm down. But the team prevailed with Otto Kemp’s base hit to left and Nick Casellano’s run scored. Jhoan Duran made his impressive debut.

O’Neil Cruz stayed on the Pittsburgh Pirates and delivered the 3rd longest grand slam of the season with a 451 ft tower. It was not enough as the Colorado Rockies won over Pittsburgh by a final score of 17-16 with Brenton Doyle’s walk-off.

    • 2025 MLB Trade Deadline Player Snubs

Player snubs happen in sports whether it is the all-star game, offseason, or trade deadline.

Lets talk about the list of MLB players that got snubbed of trades and walk away with a heavy pocket at the deadline.

      Zac Gallen

Gallen, ace of the Arizona Diamondbacks, has been through a shaky outburst and there were rumors he was headed to the New York Yankees. Turns out, New York did not surprise. They made the right decision despite only acquiring David Bednar.

Gallen is a valuable piece because of his injury history but critics say Arizona locked in again with their aggressiveness to retain him.

      Dylan Cease

Cease managed to withhold his ground with yet another contender so he is handy but there were rumblings that the Houston Astros expressed interest and that would have formed a devastating recipe.

      Mackenzie Gore

Gore is the best pitcher on the block even though Joe Ryan makes a clear argument as well. With a 3.80 ERA this season, he has had work to compile with a mediocre defense which is why a change of scenery could have served him right.

      Jarren Duran

Duran clocks in as the final as the Boston Red Sox confused the whole baseball World into buying or selling after the departure of Rafael Devers. The Red Sox stand a possible Wild Card chance but what is more intriguing is that teams could have sworn the colors would look better on something else of Duran considering his status.
