Alex Pereira holds an 11-2 record and he has managed to win successfully well against the likes of Jamahal Hill, Jan Blachowicz, and Jiri, Prochazka. Some call him a Brazilian and others refer to him as an overall master by now of mixed martial arts taking over.
He factually took the spot of Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler and that did not matter as he pounded Jiri with a kick and finished jabs to the floor for a knockout victory at UFC 303. It was no unanimous or split decision.
It was ruled based on Pereira undergoing prowess and confidence inside the octagon. He went on to win his 8th consecutive fight and extend his dominance in the light heavyweight division and retain the title.
Pereira is likely sharper than he’s ever been and for a while, there’s no named quiet assassin. He is 36 years old but the road does not stop until it becomes trickier almost similar to Amanda Nunes.
Pereira has not knocked down a fierce box office opponent such as Nunes but he has brought a different intensity to the sport and might at some point, face his winding destiny whether at light heavyweight or middleweight again.
