  • Why Paul DePodesta, Rockies is a Failing Project

Why Paul DePodesta, Rockies is a Failing Project

“Moneyball” the movie debuted in 2011 and, I myself, had the privilege to interview Casey Bond about his starring role with Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill as Paul DePodesta.

DePodesta resume does not come lightly. He last worked as a chief stategy officer with the Cleveland Browns for ten years and has never been seen in Major League Baseball since. In fact, what is to say the vertical break and horizontal break logic has fit into a lot of batters’ success these days at the plate.

So much has changed in the sport of baseball since DePodesta last evolved. DePodesta is a time-making shift as to what the Monfort brothers have in mind. The brothers have always invested in profits more so than winning ball games and investing in the farm system full-term.

Without DePodesta and Monforts, nobody would be talking about the technology department and infrastructure, the Rockies have a lot to touch on before sustaining DePodesta’s job. Another thing is the pitch clock.

Many notable peers in baseball respect DePodesta such as Chris Antonetti, Alex Anthopolous, and MIke Elias. Elias, president of Baltimore Orioles baseball operations, did mention DePodesta might have a grasp about player health and performance spacing coming over from the NFL but nothing tells until DePodesta steps in and evolves the core shape of the Colorado Rockies front office.

  • Phillies 2025 MLB Offseason Predictions

    Phillies 2025 MLB Offseason Predictions

The Philadelphia Phillies are coming off a year of certainty. They locked first place of the NL East for the second straight year and look to repeat, once further.

The Houston Astros or Arizona Diamondbacks or Los Angeles Dodgers were playoff losses, but the Philadelphia Phillies fans can take a sigh of relief for what is about to happen, starting with Justin Crawford.

Crawford will start the season most likely at right field and be the determing factor of the MLB offseason. There has been all kinds of rumors swirling around Alec Bohm and several other of the Phillies players and it is hard to buy.

The best bet is the Phillies brought most of their talent from last year, and not blow it up. Beside, this is not a year author of the New York Times, Matt Gelb, becomes decisive of all the Phillies offseason plans blowing up in the face of Phillies fans.

If Philadelphia stays on the track their on, they will reach a point of consistency again with Bryce Harper leading the team to the playoffs without Nick Castellanos in the lineup.

Phillies Rob Thomson has come close in winning NL Manager of the Year and who is not to say he cannot lead the team himself.

  • SAVAGE

    SAVAGE

Just recently promoted from A-ball, Tre Yesavage has been nothing but savage.

He has helped Toronto Blue Jays teammates such as Bo Bichette, Addison Barger, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. reach their full potential and had only been in the MLB regular season for a short amount of time.

His 100 mph fastball screams excellence and breaks the plate with a nasty slider, Yesavage is savage. Younger players do not scream this kind of excellence until they step into the World Series in front a ton of Dodgers fans.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are trying to become the first team back=to-back since the 09′ Phillies to try and win the World Series. Mookie Betts has gone 1-of-15 at the plate and who is not to argue that Freddie Freeman has produced a good series, yet again.

Although, much is to be said about Yesavage as he was drafted in the first round part of a relief team in East Carolina University. East Carolina holds a good program and Yesavage and the rest of the Blue Jays should feel ecstatic for what their wholehearted dreams hang with a 3-2 World Series lead.

  • What is Rob Manfred Talking about?

Rob Manfred has been the MLB commissioner since Bud Selig stepped down and some of his comments have been explanatory and stupidity.

For example, why would dividing up new divisions sound pleasant of the fundamental way? Also, why should sports data be considered ‘crucial’ when there is no meaning in sports gambling?

All these questions have lately been delved into Manfred’s way. Even, the backing of recent allegations of NBA gambling.

Manfred is not a mass figure that can control the narrative. There is a union and a state of employees that strive for the perfect example of Major League Baseball. Without it, there would be no formula for success.

Manfred argues that partnerships might as well be the reasoning of sports gambling. News flash, everything must change because there has been immature filthiness on the road to stardom for some players in MLB that deserve to be glorified.

  • What are the Next Steps of the Philadelphia Phillies

The next steps of the Philadelphia Phillies have oftentimes been rough, as of late.

Kyle Schwarber just finished a fantastic season with 56 home runs, almost tying Ryan Howard’s previous record. Zack Wheeler undergone surgery for his arm. Bryce Harper proved he was not an elite batter, according to Dave Dombrowski.

The trade speculation has been hot for Harper, in particular. He told the Athletic Saturday, of the betrayal.

The Phillies have up-and-coming prospect Justin Crawford approaching and it would not hurt for them to seek lee way for the son of former All-Star, Carl Crawford.

Not only that, the Phils could sign Kazuma Okamoto who recently became posted by Japan and hosts a real good chance at being one of the best to come out of the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

I would not expect the Los Angeles Dodgers to sign him. If they do, it is a swing-and-miss.

Andrew Painter is also being promoted next year and it would not hurt for the Phillies to take a step back and realize the potential of this team with younger talent.

Bryce Harper’s time is coming to an end.

He has long been a solo mark in the history of Major League Baseball since one of the most historic athletes to land.on the cover of Sports Illustrated. J.T. Realmuto, Bryson Stott, Trea Turner, Nick Castellanos, and Schwarber all supported the move of Harper but that ship has sank since 2022.

The Phillies want to get ahead of themselves before they live in the past and Dombrowski was right.

This is a business decision, not a priceless one. Dombrowski worked with some of the best and he does not want to rip his reputation or Philadelphia. Harper must admit, he has to play better next season, if he truly loves the city of Brotherly Love.

  • Like Dad, Like Son, Vladdy on a Quest

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. represents Toronto, Canada in the 2025 MLB World Series and has performed high up to expectations in the postseason with the Blue Jays. He has hit six home runs, 15 RBI, and a 1.440 OPS during this time with his team.

Bo Bichette returned to the team today and what better with George Springer and him to hit tops in Major League Baseball batting average since the All-Star break. Vladdy has accomplished so much in just his short career in Canada.

His father Vladimir Guerrero Sr. has played in Canada before with the Montreal Expos. During his time, he hit a .640 OPS in the career postseason and has paved a path for his son, Vladdy.

Vladdy is currently serving in the World Series to win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 tonight, and most of all, deliver a ring to his father.
